M.F.S.T.C. Club Raffle: We will draw the winning tickets for our months-long M.F.S.T.C. club raffle at our June meeting. Leo Pollock has requested that tickets and money be submitted to him before the May 26 deadline. Please contact Leo if you have any ticket stubs and money to turn in: Leo Pollock, leojpollock@gmail.com, 443-857-1057, 56 Rockeywood Lane, Essex, MD 21221. Thanks, Leo, for setting up and taking responsibility for this event, and thank you to those members who took a bundle for sale. Good luck too all.

Merchandise: Gina Stinemire and Olivea Cornwell did another outstanding job of selling and accounting for the sale of T-shirts, bumper stickers, club patches and donated items for sale.

New Members: We welcome new members John Curtis, Ambrose Wetzelberger and Brian Green. Among our guests this meeting was the distinguished Sandra Anderson who has a lifetime of experience and has been a member and officer of the Chesapeake Society of Treasure Hunters. It was an honor to have her join us.

Meet The Members: Gary Pennington relegated part of our meetings to "Meet the Members Corner" wherein members will be called upon to tell us more about themselves.

M.F.S.T.C. Open Treasure Hunt: Sunday, October 12 at Sandy Point State Park. Registration is $75 postmarked up to August 31 and $100 after. Please visit our website for more information.

Next Club Outing: Our next club hunt will be June 21 at 10:00 AM.

Thank you to Frank Ziemski for helping to reconnoiter areas to park and detecting possibilities. Frank's detailed notes helped greatly with determining the area to hunt. Our original location was reported by George Venker to have possible PCB contamination of the soil.

Jay Brown: We visited Jay Brown and give him the get-well card signed by our members. During the course of our visit, Jay read every single entry and was very thankful for the wishes.

Trash Drive: Members really came through with about 300 LB of trash targets this month. The buckets were plentiful and heavy! Please continue to bring your dug-up trash to our meetings. Let's see if we can top that.

Club Hunt May 17: A beautiful day but no beginners! Sure there were some kids who seemed to know what they were doing, but we expected more adults who want to learn more about their detectors. The test field with numerous objects was popular with even the most experienced detectorists. One person learned the VDI numbers were not what he had expected for certain targets and he might have been overlooking good targets.

Susan Bauman, Danny Beavers, Andy Cooper, Steve Cunningham, Kurt Franz, Eric Heilman with Ella, Brady and Justen Winemiller, Brad Johns, John Manzari, Jerry McCall, Justin Schley, and John Vice came to enjoy the day. John Curtis, who's been hunting for about a year, joined the club on the spot and found a large cent (no date) among other interesting finds not far from where we parked.

Brad Johns found a hefty silver ring and flat button with the design of a flower on it among other curios. Andy Cooper found a smaller but beautiful silver ring.

Display Board: Howard Shettle, our vice president, announced the winners of our April display board contest as follows: Coins –Gary Pennington took first; Kurt Franz second; and Dave Denkenberger won third place. Relics – Kurt Franz came in first, Dave Denkenberger took second and Howard Shettle got third place. Dave Denkenberger won the club special.

Raffle Winners: Not without some humorous comments, Dave Miller won both the silver round and the 50-50 raffles.

Adjournment: Our May 29 meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM.

Next meeting: Our next meeting will be held Thursday, June 26 at 7:30 PM. Our mini hunt will start at 7:00 PM. Our program for June will be: What to do with Dug-Up Coins? Scott Schubert of the Bel ÍAir Coin Club will talk about coins in general and how to handle unearthed coins. Thank you Bob Taylor for settong this up.

See you there,
