MFSTC Newsletter

The in Person meeting was called to order at: 7:07 PM by President, Mike McCullough. Mike introduced the club officers, Vice President, Mr. Dwayne Meanor, Treasurer, Mr. Gary Pennington and Mr. Tom Burleson, Secretary and Newsletter. Mike acknowledged all the volunteers and thanked them for their service.

Mini Hunt: We had our monthly Mini Hunt this month. They start at 6:30 PM prior to the 7:00 PM meeting. Next month’s meeting will be the last mini hunt for the rest of this year. You may want to bring a head lamp or flashlight due to the lack of daylight.

Refreshments: Pizza and drinks were provided by the club again this month.

Thank You: Ed Stratton for helping with the raffles and Dave Franz for handing out the door prize tickets.

Buddy List: This is a list of people needing or giving assistance with their type of Metal Detector. Anyone is interested in joining the Buddy list see Andy Cooper.

Gold and Diamond Testing: See Nathan Pressler if you need something checked out. Testing will be done in March, June, September, and November.

September’s Club Outing: The outing was held on Saturday September 9th at the Heritage Farm Park Farm in Walkersville, Md.

Presentation: Mike McCullough gave a presentation entitled “Metal Detecting Bootcamp in the UK”. Mike went over his recent trip and finds in England. The presentation was very informative and interesting. Thank you, Mike.

Upcoming Outings : Our members only hunt will be October 7, 2023. Joe DeMarco Memorial Hunt Digging South Jersey. October 13 – 15 2023. Old Dominion relic seeded hunt $135 dig on November 4, 2023.

New Business. With the upcoming Election for the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. An Election Committee was formed. The members are Chris Wisnom, Andy Cooper and Ed Stratton. The ballet meeting will be November and the voting will be in December.

Update: Baltimore Parks opened on September 1st

Donations: Nathan Pressler, Tom Ferral, Dennis Powers and Mark Krieger. Thank you all.

Special Donations: Thank you Dave Franz for donating the Pocket Watch and the Whites Metal Detector! The detector will be raffled off starting with the September meeting. When we reach at least $280.00 we will pull the winning ticket. Please hold onto your tickets until then and Good Luck!
