Code of Ethics
(from United Metal Detecting Clubs of America)

1. I will respect private property, and do no "Metal Detecting", without the owner's or host's permission.

2. I will fill all excavations properly without damage to grass or soil and leave no visible outline.

3. In parks, I will use only digging tool with a 6-inch or shorter blade. I will use an all-metal shovel made specifically for metal detecting only where allowed. I will read all park rules and understand them.

4. I will appreciate and protect our heritage of natural resources, wildlife, and private property.

5. I will use thoughtfulness, consideration, and courtesy at all times.

6. I will leave gates as found.

7. I will remove and properly dispose of any trash and debris that I find. 

8. I WILL NOT LITTER!

9. I WILL NOT destroy property, buildings, or any remains of old home sites and foundations.

10. I WILL OBEY THESE  " CODE OF ETHICS " AT ALL TIMES WHILE DETECTING.

11. I WILL OBEY ALL LOCAL, STATE, FEDERAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
